Recently, the statue of Lachit Borphukan, the leader of the Ahom army in the Middle Ages, was unveiled by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Additionally, he unveiled Swahid Smarak and Udyan, a memorial being built at the Narengi Military Station in Guwahati in honor of the Assam Agitation martyrs. These two buildings were funded by the Assami government.
