Archaeologists have found a crystal quartz weighing unit from the Sangam era while excavating at the Keeladi site in Tamil Nadu, 12 km southeast of Madurai. This discovery, which is 175 cm below the surface, is the first of its kind since the Keeladi excavations began in 2014. The distinctively shaped crystal artifact has a roughly spherical shape.
