The Madhya Pradesh government has prepared the Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary to become a new cheetah habitat. Teams from Kenya and South Africa assessed the site, and prey animals were relocated from other tiger reserves. Eight Namibian cheetahs were released at Kuno National Park in 2022, followed by 12 more from South Africa in 2023. The Chief Minister directed a study on introducing rhinos and other rare animals to the state.
