On Hojagiri Day, the Reang community, also called Bru, calls for a holiday in Tripura to honour their traditional dance. The Reangs are the only Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) in Tripura and the second-largest tribal community in the state. With a population of about 188,080, they may be found in Assam, Mizoram, and Tripura. Originating in Shan State, Myanmar, the Reangs moved to Tripura in various waves.
