Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma officially opened the first overseas liaison office of India's Numaligarh Refinery Limited in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan, Managing Director of NRL, was present along with other officials. Verma emphasized the expansion of India-Bangladesh relations by highlighting bilateral trade and cooperation in the energy sector. He brought up the Friendship Pipeline Project, whose construction in Bangladesh cost more than Rs 285 crore and which was jointly inaugurated by Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It can transport one million metric tons per year of high-speed diesel.
