Neeraj Chopra, the Olympic and world champion javelin thrower, made the men's "World Athlete of the Year" shortlist. One of the five athletes shortlisted for the esteemed award was the 25-year-old Indian. The other male competitors on the final roster are Ryan Crouser of the USA in shot put, Mondo Duplantis of Sweden in pole vault, Kelvin Kiptum of Kenya in marathon, and Noah Lyles of the USA in the 100 and 200 meters.
