The second Chief Secretaries National Conference recognized the Kerala "Year of Enterprises" project as the best practice model. It was chosen for the category "Thrust on Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs)". The Kerala government launched the project in the current fiscal year with the intention of establishing one lakh businesses annually; however, the state succeeded in doing so in just eight months.
