Using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) launched TSAT-1A, an optical sub-meter resolution Earth observation satellite. It was developed in partnership with Satellogic Inc. and provides multispectral and hyperspectral imaging capabilities comparable to those of a military system. It is used to improve readiness and strategic decision-making for Indian defense. It is the first military satellite developed by the private sector, and it is assembled in Karnataka to supplement India's current ISRO-built spy satellite fleet.
