On the grounds of Madras Christian College in Tamil Nadu, researchers saw a big adult antlion, Palpares contrarius, that resembled a dragonfly for the first time. The predatory larvae of antlions, which are members of the family Myrmeliontidae and order Neuroptera, catch ants in sandy pits. They are difficult to see during the day but can be seen at night close to lights. They are found all throughout the planet, mostly in arid, sandy regions.
