On March 6, 2024, at INS Garuda, Kochi, the Indian Navy will take delivery of the MH 60R Seahawk, a maritime version of the Blackhawk helicopter. In February 2020, the agreement with the US government was signed. With capabilities like search and rescue, medical evacuation, anti-submarine warfare, and vertical replenishment, the Seahawk will strengthen the Navy's maritime might. It is equipped with cutting-edge avionics and weapons that can counter both conventional and asymmetric threats. It has undergone extensive testing in Indian conditions.
