According to Union Minister of Communication and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw, India will host the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly in 2019. The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly, one of the three global conferences of the International Telecommunication Union and, by extension, the United Nations system, is the governing body of the ITU Standardization Sector. It takes place every four years.
