NITI Aayog recently published the National Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) second edition. According to a report by Niti Aayog, over the course of five years, up until March 2021, a remarkable 13.5 crore people were able to escape multidimensional poverty. This was determined by improvements in healthcare, education, and living standards. The states that experienced the fastest reductions in poverty during this time were Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh.
