At the age of 102, N Sankaraiah, a well-known freedom fighter, one of the most important figures in the Left movement, and a founding member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), passed away. He initially joined the Communist Party of India (CPI) in the 1940s, developed into a significant Tamil Nadu organizer, and in 1944 held the position of Madurai district secretary for the party.
