The 850-MW Ratle Hydro Electric Project in Jammu & Kashmir will proceed more quickly thanks to the government's announcement that water from the Chenab River will be diverted through tunnels. The Chenab River run-of-river hydroelectric power project is situated in the Kishtwar District. It is a joint venture between Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation and National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, developed by Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation (RHPCL). It consists of an underground powerhouse, a diversion dam, and a concrete gravity dam rising to a height of 133 meters.
