On the occasion of the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, West Bengal, which is home to about 40% of the mangrove forests in India, announced the establishment of a "Mangrove Cell" in the State. The State government's mangrove management efforts will remain consistent thanks to this platform. The Cell will consider maintenance and work with NGOs in accordance with an annual action plan for the planting of mangroves.
