After 127 years, researchers discovered a Mimeusemia ceylonica, a rare moth species, in Tamil Nadu's Kalakkad-Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve. The results are based on twice-monthly moth surveys that have been conducted since 2018, 127 years after it was last noted in Sri Lanka. This moth species is being discovered for the first time in India.
