Recently, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana-Mukhyamantri Amrutam (PMJAY-MA) scheme received an upgrade from the Gujarat government. As opposed to the previous cap of Rs. 5 lakh, it now allows people to access free medical care up to Rs. 10 lakh. In the state, a total of 2,027 government hospitals, 803 private hospitals, and 18 Central government hospitals are accredited to provide medical care and conduct operations.
