The Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collected in May 2023 increased by 12% annually to reach Rs 1.57 lakh crore. The Finance Ministry reported that the GST collections for the month of April 2023 were the highest ever at Rs 1.87 lakh crore. For 14 consecutive months, monthly GST revenues have exceeded Rs 1.4 lakh crore, and for the fifth time since the introduction of GST, they have exceeded Rs 1.5 lakh crore.
