Jaishankar declared "Operation Indravati," which aims to move Indians who are stranded from violent Haiti to the Dominican Republic. Twelve residents were moved safely. There are between 75 and 90 Indian residents in Haiti, of whom 60 have applied for repatriation. India does not have a diplomatic mission in Haiti; instead, it handles matters through its mission in the neighboring country of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo.
